hi everyone i brought my first bmw 318 e46 2003 saloon today while driving home the engine siezed

i love the car so went on the hunt for an engine and

not sure what to do

cause i have discovered there is a 318 e46 M 42 engine and also an N 42

i think i have worked out mine is a N42 but can i use the M42 engine as they seem a bit cheaper

or are they totally different hope somone can help here cheers

Stick with the N** engine due to the ECU - Would like some info on WHY your engine seized

ok but we are talking about a £500 difference in price if i can use the m42 can anyone please tell me what i would have to change if anything cheers i can buy a m42 for like £350 with low miles or a high mile n42 for £1100

      Bmw x4 2015 3.0d injector issue?

      Hi Dave, It appears that my Ista+ was out of date and the idrive(ecu) software in the vehicle is running the 2018 version, therefore, reading the vehicle with the up to date remote ista from the dealership shows there is nothing wrong with the car. It's already booked for a software update with the 2025 version Thanks!

      Morning Annamaria Welcome to the Forum As with any purchase of a Second hand car it falls on you to make all the checks you can if your not able/capable then ask someone who is to check for you. There may be a charge from people like the AA/RAC or similar but at least you will feel confident in your decision. Just asking on a Forum could get conflicting advice as no one but you has actually seen the car? Well I assume you have have had hands on it Good Hunting Dave

      Selling a BMW wall charger

      Hi all, My wife and I had an i3 from 2016 to 2020. We have the BMW charger wallbox [stock image attached] and it will soon be time to sell this as moving home. It is detached from wall and ready to go. Where is the best marketplace for selling this type of thing, basically a 32A electrical appliance? Any advice, please? Tony
