Hi im new here and recently purchased a 1999 BMW 323i Touring, I had intended to do it up and then sell it on but I must admit I am rather smitten with it. The decision of whether or not to keep it was kind of made for me when my work van overheated badly and blew its HG last week. I wont be fixing it as the amount of jobs that now need doing equate to over the vans value in parts alone. I am a self employed mechanic so labour would not have been an issue regardless.

So I decided I should try using my 323 touring for work untill I can afford to buy a decent van but this is also proving difficult as I am 23 in 2 days time and most insurance companies either wont touch it or quote silly figures like £5k a year. Im hoping that the club insurance scheme will cover under 25s as if it does I will most certianlly be joining.

Have some photos of my 323.

Thanks for the welcome, I must say what they say about BMWs being real drivers car is certianlly true about this one it certianlly is lovely to drive and a lot faster than im used too.

Although saying that the other cars im used to driving are not really that comparable.

2011 french poo Scenic (horrid bland and boring to drive)

1999 VW Caddy NA diesel (Slower than a snail)

1967 DAF 44 (rubber bands, 844cc, and 34hp need I say anymore)

1967 Triumph 1300 (not fast but lovely to drive)

the photos I posted first were the ebay photos posted by the man I bought it from. Since then I have taken some of my own.

I want to put a leather interior in it but unfortunatly E36 touring ones don't seem very easy to find, does anyone know if E46 touring seats will fit. I want leather for its wipe down quality as with my proffesion cloth seats will quickly get ruined so part leather is not an option
