Haven't been on for a while for various reasons so guess the car decided to give me a nudge, battery was flat this morning after a week off and very little use prior to this. I've got the battery out and it's an original BMW unit, it has stickers on the top which are covering the access screws where you top up the water. Is it OK to charge the battery with these closed (haven't charged a battery for ages and seem to remember opening these prior to charging).

Happy New Year

A battery has a vent on the side, you can charge it with it closed, but the gases will prevent an efficient charge.

Best thing to do it open them and then charge. Also don't use a trickle charger, they kill batterys due to overcharging. Use an intellegent charger like a CTEK
