Annoying Judder On The E65

Hi all need a bit of advice ...

The e65 7 series has a annoying judder it feels a bit like a misfire or petrol shortage ..

Some times pulling away from a roundabout it sort if holds back before pulling away and when your doing 30/40 mph the revs jump up and down like its struggling

Start with a good clean of the throttle-body mate. Get it off and scrub it with some diesel

Failing that, if it's a sensor fault it should be stored as a code so run an OBD reader on it. I have one so if your at the Milton Keynes meet....

Thanks Daz for your input someone else said it may be a sensor prob won't make the MK meet for one this weather has put me behind at work and the engine fault drive moderately light has come on a couple of times this week I want to get it sorted before I take it on a 300 mile round trip

As above, dodgy injector(s) ? ...check fuel pressure too ;)

Hit n miss with me. There's no proof it does anything.

Right I think it's the mass air flo sensor can this be cleaned or does it need to be replaced

Also I have found new ones for £60 but a bosh one the same is £219

I hope it's not that dirty diesel stuff

Petrol, Isopropyl, carb-cleaner etc... Don't touch the element though ;)

At last we get it sorted :-)

Removed the sensor cleaned with halfords electric contact cleaner and left to dry for an hour and put back together hey presto no judder

Ok guys just an update in the judder ...

Although the air flow issue did solve the main judder once this was fixed it developed into a miss fire and engine fault light coming on with message saying

Excessive acceleration may damage catalyst.

The BMW reader showed that cylinder 7 coil pack was down so £87 later new one fitted and my faith in the V8 cruse ship was restored :-)
