Hi all, I've got a 2008 3 series coupe 2 litre m sport and I can't for the life of me figure out how to get the second set of spot lights on! When I say second set of spots, I mean the two lights, one either side, next to the normal headlights. They don't appear to come on when I flick to full beam, or when I switch the fogs on. Any help would be gratefully received and thanks in advance

Arnt they sidelights and come on upon the first turn of the lights dial?

The halos come on when you switch the sidelights on. The tubes appear to have projector lenses and full size bulbs in them - it's all a bit of a mystery really as I've never seen them on

I'll sort out a pic tomorrow. It would really useful to have missiles, now there's an extra I'd tick the box for!

:P Yes.

Side lights is the right answer! I switched them on and took a really good look and what do you know, a very faint glow! Seem a bit pointless really, the halos put out far more light! Does appear to have enough room behind to fit a couple of stingers though! :-) Sorry to have had such a blonde moment on you all (I'm not really blonde though - just proves it can happen to anyone!) sorry again, and thanks for pointing out I'm a bit dim - like my side lights ;-)

Don't be daft... good question matey ;)

On my 728 the inner lamps were dippers and the outer ones high beam !

I guess they are dim deliberately to emphasize the halos :)

Hi, Sorry if this has already been answered, I've not read all the replies to your question but I had a similar question when I took delivery of my E61 LCI and not even the main dealer could tell me. With mine, bi xenon, they turned out to be turn lights that operate (Single light depending on the direction of corner) taking hairpins below a certain speed and also when indicating at low speed. They work great, very common on cars in Europe. Hope this helps!
