Hi there all.

I am aboutt to purchase a 2011 3 series tourer with 61,000 miles from an independent retailer. Am I correct in thinking that despite the car being only 21 months old its BMW warranty is invalid? It has a full main dealer BMW service history.

that's 61,000 miles of motorway Rep driving. You'll be fine. I would imagine that car has not even heard the word "Speed bump", never-mind see one.

about the warranty, I'm not to sure. My car is older than Me so, I really don't know about warranties. Your best bet is to give the dealership a bell and ask that question. Have your VIN number handy

On a side note, Your 2011 has NEARLY done the same millage as my 1987 bmw! haha that's an achievement right there! B)

      Or you could take the bulb out of the lamp and see what effect it has on battery drain 🤣 Just looked at a wiring diagram and there is a 2 position switch but no location I would assume you have had your fingers on it Dave

      Hi. I would have no issues using second hand parts as long as they are straight and clean. where are you based? Check realoem and put your vin number in to get part numbers for the pan, then eBay or the likes.. in the Uk, I use quarry motors for most of my bits. I’m sure they would post worldwide if needed. good luck

      Hi bud. the easy way to tell is to put your mobile phone on record and leave it in there. … I would assume the switch is on the inside of the clip, the female part in the dash, rather than the male section on the door, there would have to be wires to it so it wouldn’t be on a hinged door. How quick does it drain the battery? how are you checking the amps on the battery?
