Hi all.

Firstly, apologies if this is posted in wrong section, I'm still pretty new.

I am DESPERATELY wanting to use aux function for my ipod in my car!

I am after a headunit for my e46 that HAS the auxiliary function. Ideally a CD headunit (I believe it was available on some tape decks???). I'd appreciate any suggestions where I can get one or if anyone has one. I have a cheap aux lead waiting but would also be interested in having any aux leads for sale too?

Due to my hunting/experimenting, I have TWO tape deck units. If anyone wants one/both let me know. Both excellent condition.

Thanks for the help Gav.

I had see this. Wanted to keep the changer functioning (don't ask me why lol).

Wanted to use the cable that goes in aux so when I scroll the mode key, I get all options.

If I can't source something, I'll probably use that one you suggested.

      BMW 318i boot locked can’t get into

      Errr not clear here Donald Plastic "L's" with short rubber hoses ??? Distilled water/Ionised water should only be used in an old style lead acid battery. The Rad and engine coolining system should be filled with the correct coolant mix to prevent cavitation and the danger of freezing in low temps. Coolant should be part of the cars regular maintenance and changed every 3 years or so. At that time all hoses and connectors should be inspected and changed where necessary to keep everything in tip top condition. Changing parts can cause as many problems as you may think your solving

      BMW 318i boot locked can’t get into

      Update: I checked my battery and it charged in 5 minutes, so I don't have to find another alternator. All seems to be OK except for the plastic "L"s with a short rubber hose that bypass the HV/AC solenoid. Those get clogged after @ 150,000-190,000 miles (if distilled water wasn't used) and cause air pockets that try to burst radiators. I have a few more brass "L"s, so now I can throw the plastic ones away. I have to be careful I don't fog the windows though, without heat or cool.

      105C thermostat replacement

      You are absolutely right. The strange thing is that when I put the chassis number on the realoem it shows that the temp sensor is not applicable on my vehicle. I will physically check for a sensor. In the meantime, do you think that the removal of the MAP activated thermostat will effect the temp gauge on the dial instrument item 6? I am tempted to add a dummy resistor , 11.5ohms - 13watts , to simulate the MAP thermostat. Your thoughts?

      SLIPPING CLUTCH

      Morning Andrew I normally disconnect the Neg lead only, some folks disconnect both a few even say disconnect both and touch them together. Goes without saying both sensor plugs need to be checked and a squirt of contact cleaner applied never hurts 😅 Dave
