Bmw 730D - Fuel Costs

Hi

When I change my car I'm thinking of getting a BMW 730d (2005/2006 ish).

The official MPG is meant to be about 35, but my car is doing roughly 10 MPG less than official.

Does anyone know approximately what the 730d actually does in everyday driving.

My commute is half motorway and half stop start town driving.

I wish to get 730d but not sure about the model to go for. ....I'm in love with F01 but the cheapest is £18k

So older maybe the one for me right now, but really need 30mpg around town

Ignore "Official Figures" because those were obtained inside a warehouse on a rolling road (and often estimated) !!

Yeah, its a good marker !

The older the engine the worse it will be unless it gets a thorough service (internally too) ;)

Also bear in mind that you're lugging almost 2 tonne of German craftsmanship around :huh:

You will find that a 730d is no better on fuel around town than a 530i, about 22-26mpg they only achieve their best mpg on the motorway of 35-40mpg.

Don't think my old E90 320d auto could get more than 28mpg around town.
