Good morning all! I've got an early series one E23 and one of the rear windows mechanisms is playing up. The gear wheel inside the transfer box that operate the regulator has stripped, probably as a result of the glass jamming after years of inactivity. I have generously been given a couple of regulators from later cars which are different, but wonder if anyone here has a unit like this lying around or tell me what else it might be used on. I've searched a well known Internet auction site for E3, E24 and E12 models, it's a Bosch unit and carries a part number 0 130 820 029 and the words 'brose coburg'.

      Hi Derek Check history very carefully some of the earlier 2.0d suffered timing chain issues and I believe BMW recommended timing chain replacement but cant recall the mileage (old Blokes brain fade) but if it's 100k then it could be costly as I believe it's engine out. Google may help more The 5 series are great cars by the way Dave

      Tyres for front of my 240i

      So after my repair, I think it's time to replace my 30k 6 year old Michelin Pilot Sports on front. The modern equivalent seems to be 225/40 ZR18 92Y Michelin Pilot Sport 4 but presumably run flats? I've been struggling to find this tyre online just to get an idea of prices, anyone recommend a supplier or an equivalent make perhaps? Thanks Dave

      Just thought I'd jump on this thread and ask how you've found the car so far as I'm looking at a 520d m sport 2018 but has 95k mile on it so just fishing around see what folks reviews of theirs or thoughts on that is

      I'm currently in the market for a new car but I'm so undecided as to what i want , I'm currently in a 2018 bclass amg line that's fine but I've go that itch that won't go away, I've looked at a 520d sport 2018 but it's got 94k miles on it which doesn't really scare me but just wanting real world advice from anyone that's got one, all it's services are there last one done at 88k , my merc has 100k on now and still goes like a dream I've had a 1 series before so not my fist bmw , anyhow thanks in advance
