Difference Between 730D Engines.....2006 Or 2010

Hi all.

I'm new here and wishing to get 730d due to economy,

The question is. .....: is the older 2006 3.0 diesel engine the same as new 2009-2010 (f01)

????????

The only thing I know is that the older one running less power so if I get the older one and re-map it

Will it be same power as the new one and will it bring me 30mpg in town and 50mpg on the run
