Hi guys and ladies of cause, I've just joined the forum so hi to one and all.

You know I've always wanted a 635 csi but for many reasons over the years I've never bought one, I've no idea why not but now I've had enough of my1990 Saab classic 900 turbo S because parts are hard to find and it's been nothing but bother since I bought it a year ago lol.

Now I'm not a purist and I like to modify my cars so please don't shoot me lol, But to start off with I need a good solid 635 to get me going, So what should I look for on these cars by look for I mean where do they rust ?, Are parts easy to come by ?.

And what are their known weaknesses ?.

Plus I've had this idea rolling about in the back of my head like you do when you've got time on your hands, Ever since going out in my brothers modified 335D (360 bhp) I've been thinking that the engine and box out of one of them might be nice in the 635 csi (gasp gets ready to be shot), I'm thinking it would make the 635 useable everyday then with good power and economy what do you guys think ?.

I've heard it maybe a tricky transplant due to the modern car having loads of transponders that communicate with the ECU's all over the place, Can this be overcome ?.

I suppose the petrol M3 V8 would probably be any easier transplant but I like the idea of the 40+ mpg out of the diesel lol.

Anyway thanks for taking the time to read and please respond what ever your thoughts I'm a big boy I can take it lol.

Rob
