Remaps are supposed to work a treat on these, as for DPF removal just be careful i only collected my E92 today back from garage for some work and asked about DPF removal and he reckon they're bringing in new checks that aren't just a visual check if DPF is there and the smoke test soon wont just be a visual either. he did say on alot of their cars they put 2 holes in the filter itself which reduces back pressure and blocking still, havnt looked into it though.
Took your advice , got some really good part worns. turns out the rim was cracked twice by a deep pothole (which i m trying to claim for from the local council) . Got a slightly bigger profile 35mm instead of 30mm and the overall ride is so much better. Horrible week though as now i have the change the timing chain aswell as it was rattling alot louder (damn N47 engine) So not my week close to £2k worth of heart ache , but good advice on the tyres , those run flats are cack So much for my ecotune pipe and combox money lol
So today on my way home at 95MPH i get the TPMS flag a loss of pressure and when i checked at the petrol station it was 100% flat :( trying to check online for a replacement but these aint cheap! does anyone know what i should be looking to pay if i shop around and also what tyre to get as they range form £140 up to £255+ i need for the rear 255/30/R91/Y XL, i also was wondering if i could get away with just replacing the 1 flat one and not both rears or is this a really bad idea?
Gonna take your advice found a pretty highly rated place near me in essex "AmD" or something just gotta scrape some xmas pennies together! on another note i have seen some induction kits to fit the these cars even K&N ones , but because the air intake comes straight from the front of the car on the airbox side, to put a cone filter in looks like it would suffer from heat soak. can anyone confirm this? This lad has one installed on same engine https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UnmFNe1cC6g
Thanks, I read on ecotune that a "software update" was vital but i assumed this was a new map? i was thinking about getting a map done anyways so might try a find somewhere decent. Im not to savvy with exhausts but am i right in thinking the eco pipe wont mean i have to run with no cat? , and that i can just remove the DPF? and with a new map ill have no issues on MOT? (not that its THAT hard to get an MOT anyways) lol What can i expect from DPF delete (aside from worrying about silly faults etc..)
Not sure if ill get sick of the turbo sound after the novelty wears off but i do like the roar lol, but are these worth the money? and does anyone have any advice on where to get it done and cost etc? with Ecotune pipe + DPF off would i still pass an emissions MOT test?
I read there is a difference with diesel though as cheap diesel can be mixed with a small percentage of other oils even cooking oil, dunno how true this is.
Darren ello mate, Went home with your advice but my problem is i cant get the valve off, its stuck pretty damn tight, even tried light taps with a hammer to loosen it, wasn't sure about using penetrating oil incase it got into the valve.
Ive read so many contradicting information online about these, does anyone have any good experience with these and are they worth the money? and are their any really good ones?
You can update the software as long as you have a USB audio input. If you go to the BMW idrive update website and enter the last 7 digits of your VIN it will give you all you need
Hi all, New member and new bmw owner, just got myself a 320D M sport and thought the first thing id do is clean out the EGR as the fuel consumption didn't seem as good as what others are getting (around 42MPG on very conservative driving) . Its an E92 4 cylinder so im pretty sure the EGR is a the front of the engine on the left and has 2 torx screws. After undoing these i couldn't for the life of me get the valve off. Am i missing something or could carbon build up have stuck it together and if so does anyone have any suggestions? Many thanks Dave
