  5. Hi Dave, Let us know how the tyres perform, have to say I worry about cheaper tyres, had a coupe, had great road holding with original tyres, replaced the front tyres with some budget tyres and the car was like driving on ice every time it rained, hope your tyres are good. Alan

  12. Hi Pete, Found this on the web, hope it helps Ok.. without having your x5 on a diagnostic machine to check for stored fault codes... your most likely problem here is cas trouble.... crank shaft sensor... These do fail - and their function in life is to pick up a signal from the crankshaft - and this then triggers the ignition side and the fuel side... without that signal , the vehicle has zero chance of running. As you say the problem is intermittent - then this is definitely your most likely cause.... It will not send a signal to the ecu (computer) telling the fuel system to operate - hence no fuel/pressure......( and the ign system to Hope this helped, keep us informed. Alan

  16. Hi Sam, BMW;s are good cars that go on forever (well almost), I personally would keep the BMW, once you have the problems are sorted, you will be glad that you kept it. Corolla is a reliable car, 1.6 engine, not much power, boring interior and drive, the money you would use to buy this could buy a battery etc for the BMW, end of the day has to be your choice. Not knowing too much about your personal life, but you say that you are going to be classified disabled, you could get a Motability car if you get the higher rate of disability allowance, you could get a brand new car every 3 years, insurance, servicing and no road tax to pay as rated disabled, good luck mate.
