Hi Trevor Sorry, I was probably confusing everyone here by not explaining myself properly - the first aid kit is fine and still sealed. It was the black plastic flap I was referring to on the front of the compartment where the kit is stowed. However, I have since got right down to have a look at it and I just wasn't pushing the clip down far enough to engage with the sprig on the compartment. All is well now thanks and it doesn't keep flying open now. Thanks Martin

My manufacturer supplied first aid kit lives in a box under the passenger seat, but the cover keeps coming open. On inspection there seems no form of catch for this - is this correct or am I missing a catch or spring to keep it closed? Martin

Thanks for the info Greydog, appreciated and helpful. My last three cars have been Jaguar and I was on a similar forum to this one. They proved invaluable and it would seem I have now found a BMW 'version' which is equally as friendly and helpful. Many thanks Martin

Sorry to be a pain guys but as a new owner I'm still working my way round the car to discover what it has to offer. 1) Servicing - I have been told by the dealer who sold the car to me that the recommended BMW service frequency is 24,000 miles or two years, whichever is sooner. Is this correct? MY last car, a Jaguar, had to be done every 12 months. 2) Fold back mirrors - My car doesn't have these. I would like to retrofit - have the mirrors already got the necessary wiring and motor and all I have to do is to plug and play a different driver's door control panel, which may or may not have the right wiring already installed? Basically, do I just have to replace the switch panel and nothing else? 3) Ski push through back seat - My back seat folds down, but I can't see any way of getting my golf clubs to push through the arm rest void. All I can see is a storage hole with a net in front when I pull the armrest off. If this is not an option on my car, why do the back seats fold down, for what reason? Martin

Hi Dave Thanks for the info on run flats. 50 miles is not that far when looking for a place to repair or replace a tyre - motorways on a Sunday night come to mind! Regarding the radio key code, when I had my previous car (Jag S Type) battery disconnected for certain work on the vehicle, it required the key code to be inputted once the battery was reconnected before it would work again. I seem to read into your reply that because the BMW radio is difficult to pinch, no code is required and subsequently neither needed when the battery is reconnected for instance? One more question if you don't mind. My door mirrors - I can't seem to find any way of folding them back either from the inside of the car or by the key fob. Can't even fold them back manually either. My manual suggests using a button on the left of the selector switch used for adjustment. I just have one slider selector switch, nothing else. Am I assuming then that my model doesn't have a fold back facility? Strange thing to omit form a car that has all the other bells and whistles. Thanks, Martin

As a new owner I have just a couple of questions you guys might be able to help me with. 1. The car has run flat tyres - I can't seem to find a spare wheel or jack equipment. Is this normal when run flats are fitted? 2. I have not been issued with a key code for the radio. This was always needed when I ran Jags previously if the battery was disconnected. Do BMWs need this? Cheers.

Just introducing myself as the proud owner today of a 3 series 320d M convertible. I have been a Jag owner for the last nine years ish (3 cars) and always fancied a hard top convertible, so a change is as good as a rest as they say. Martin
