  1. Hi. Do you have a light on the dash? It could be that someone fitted an emulator ?
  2. Right… changed the throttle body, now goes like stink… didn’t start… new battery, now starts and goes like stink…. now drops into fail safe and says the idle valve is mechanically stuck open. where is it, how much is it… can I kick it?
  3. I stand corrected…. It wasn’t the starter. I could hear it clicking so checked the battery, amps were about 10… new battery and fired straight up…. So much for Halfords and yuasa battery testing! ….now to the next issue…
  4. I’m more concerned about the other cars… I have a 5’ Brazilian wife and a 2 ton car … 😂😂😂
  5. The sounder doesn’t come on when I fault the system and I’m getting both tones so I assume the speakers are correct. cheers mate!
  6. Haha… I have ran out of ear defenders from children use! 😂 no faults showing on 1.4.0 or autel scanner. I get faults when I unplug sensors. I think I’ll buy a set of sensors and change the fronts… then see what happens.
  7. Right! …. Changed the unit…. Still screaming away! lol. all the sensors are clicking away happily but it seems to be the high pitched tone is constant and interrupted by the lower… so I’m assuming it’s a front sensor confusing the system. any suggestions?? (apart from press the button to shut it up!) haha.
  8. Hi all…. Yet another headache! the starter motor has decided to pack up on the e53. anyone had to do this job? How easy is it? What should I expect? Should I just give it to a garage? I have a jack and axle stands…. And not a lot of time as usual…. any tips and tricks will be greatly appreciated. Cheers!
  9. Take the front grilles out and you can access the cables for the hood/ bonnet release. I had to do this on the x5 recently.
  10. Isn’t the offset ext stamped on ten wheels? Like 9j 49 or so?
  11. I have one of those cheap Chinese things with a free SIM card in it and it’s great for tracking the car. it’s not insurance approved but it records speed and stuff. I can set it up so I can kill the fuel pumps if it moves outside of a boundary when armed… all sorts of parameters can be set to alert me. i always had thatcham approved trackers etc fitted in my cars, but I have never had to use them for theft.
  12. Hello. How many miles has it done? has the gearbox ever been serviced? stu
  13. Good evening and welcome. feel free to ask us any bmw related questions… or anything really! we are a friendly community.
  14. They all seem correct and clean, and when it’s quiet, each sensor seems to work as it should. But as soon as you move, it goes mental and doesn’t pick up normal things like walls, just screams itself silly! no faults are present an 1.4.0 and all sensors bring faults when unplugged. It’s driving me mad!
  15. IMG_9899.mov Mine has decided it wants to warn people of its presence…. There is nothing around it. When I stand in front of the sensors individually they all click and the buzzer starts correctly, but move and it thinks the world is attacking it!
