  1. I’m more concerned about the other cars… I have a 5’ Brazilian wife and a 2 ton car … 😂😂😂
  2. The sounder doesn’t come on when I fault the system and I’m getting both tones so I assume the speakers are correct. cheers mate!
  3. Haha… I have ran out of ear defenders from children use! 😂 no faults showing on 1.4.0 or autel scanner. I get faults when I unplug sensors. I think I’ll buy a set of sensors and change the fronts… then see what happens.
  4. Right! …. Changed the unit…. Still screaming away! lol. all the sensors are clicking away happily but it seems to be the high pitched tone is constant and interrupted by the lower… so I’m assuming it’s a front sensor confusing the system. any suggestions?? (apart from press the button to shut it up!) haha.
  5. Hi all…. Yet another headache! the starter motor has decided to pack up on the e53. anyone had to do this job? How easy is it? What should I expect? Should I just give it to a garage? I have a jack and axle stands…. And not a lot of time as usual…. any tips and tricks will be greatly appreciated. Cheers!
  6. Take the front grilles out and you can access the cables for the hood/ bonnet release. I had to do this on the x5 recently.
  7. Isn’t the offset ext stamped on ten wheels? Like 9j 49 or so?
  8. I have one of those cheap Chinese things with a free SIM card in it and it’s great for tracking the car. it’s not insurance approved but it records speed and stuff. I can set it up so I can kill the fuel pumps if it moves outside of a boundary when armed… all sorts of parameters can be set to alert me. i always had thatcham approved trackers etc fitted in my cars, but I have never had to use them for theft.
  9. Hello. How many miles has it done? has the gearbox ever been serviced? stu
  10. Good evening and welcome. feel free to ask us any bmw related questions… or anything really! we are a friendly community.
  11. They all seem correct and clean, and when it’s quiet, each sensor seems to work as it should. But as soon as you move, it goes mental and doesn’t pick up normal things like walls, just screams itself silly! no faults are present an 1.4.0 and all sensors bring faults when unplugged. It’s driving me mad!
  12. IMG_9899.mov Mine has decided it wants to warn people of its presence…. There is nothing around it. When I stand in front of the sensors individually they all click and the buzzer starts correctly, but move and it thinks the world is attacking it!
  13. My old company motto was , nothing is impossible, it just costs a lot more. im sure with a few tweaks you could do what you feel….. I have seen a 27litre tank engine in a rover p1 before 🫡
  14. Morning Mr Kris, welcome to the forum. if the engine turns out to be a bit sick, it’s a good excuse to go and see quarry motors and pick an engine, make it fit and have fun…. If you’re going to spend money fixing an engine, get a bigger, running one and spend the time shoehorning it in… the wife won’t know what you are doing and you can use the excuse you are saving money by fixing the old one! enjoy! 😉
  15. Hi all. Can someone help pleases im after a video of an e53 with working reversing sensors. Basically, I have repaired mine and it’s showing no faults, but it’s beeping and bleeping more than R2D2 on crack. …. Can you do a video with it not on, put it in reverse and then move so it picks stuff up so I can compare it to a normal car please! 😂
  16. It all comes as one kit. I think my thrust bearing went so I just swapped the lot… £600 for a clutch is a good price.
  17. ….. ah!,….. I wanted the De Cat model 😔😂😂😂
  18. Is this one the right model throttlebody? 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
  19. Hi paneuro, im guessing yours is a dual mass flywheel… if it is, you are looking around £500 for the clutch plus fitting… standard one is around £200 for the kit. I had my e46 dual mass replaced for about £850 if I remember. Any decent garage should be able to do the job.
  20. What on Gods great earth did I unleash??? I thought the car was a bit lumpy, but blimey! It must have been choking itself silly… took the bm out with its new throttle body for a test run and it’s never moved so fast! It’s found about 100 horses under there! happy man about to lose his license! 😂😂😂
  21. Finally got round to doing the throttle body… took 2 hours and a bit of swearing. Kids stayed indoors this time as it was raining. managed to remove it by undoing the bolts and elbow hose, then pulling and swivelling it to the rear. Plugged the new (second hand ) one in and fired it up…. All warning lights still on,… plugged in 1.4.0 program and scanned for saved faults, cleared all faults and took it for a spin. I’m not sure if it has been down on power for a while but blimey, off like a rabid whippet! ill take it for a longer run tomorrow but staggering difference and idle is fine, revs are fine and no warnings . as a bonus, I also managed to swap the faulty parking sensor so that works now…. That will confuse the wife! 😂🫡
  22. I left mine to play in the caravan last week while I did the door lock…. They painted it with white emulsion. 😂
  23. I’ll lock mine in the conservatory and put frozen on…. Should keep them quiet for a little while!
  24. Hi all, can I get some advice please. how easy is it to replace the throttle body on the 3.0 petrol engine… I believe it’s the m42? any guides? Pelican or the internet shows me nothing and I have about an hour on Saturday to replace it with a set of tools and probably 2 young screaming kids around… no pressure as always!
  25. God afternoon David and welcome to the forum. very nice car and a good colour choice! it’s been a while since I modded exhausts but I’m sure power flow or similar can give you what you need
