  1. I was thinking about a slightly different offset, just so they sit out a little wider, with stretched tires.
  2. It's got the standard 15s with the chunkiest tires I've seen. So was think 16s or 17s with low profiles
  3. Just found these > 3 Series 316i / 318ti / 318is / 318TDS Compact 04/94>06/01 60/40mm Good price too.
  4. Nothing is wrong with a bit of !Removed! haha.. May as well jump in on the game here..
  5. Wow. Does anyone here actually like Renualts? Lol. I'm letting myself in for a beating, but here it goes: All in order. 'L' Renualt Clio 1.2 RN - Scrap 'J' Renualt Clio 1.4 RT - Scrap 'L' Renualt Clio 1.8 8v RSi - Sold 'L' Volkswagen Polo 1.3 Genesis Coupe (but is actually a 3dr hatch?!) - Scrap 'L' Renualt Clio 1.4 RT - Sold, then 6 days later decided to set itself alight 'L' Renualt 19 16v Hatch - Sold 'K' Honda Civic 1.5 LSi (Topped out at 65mph, it was buuuggered) - Sold 'T' Renualt Laguna V6 RTi - Sold 'N' Renualt Clio 1.2 RL Prima - Sold 'J' Renualt 19 16v Chamade (1 of 42 left apparently, still got it as a project) - Own 'R' BMW 318ti Compact (Bought 4 days ago) - Own All in a space of 4 years.. I'm a bit of a Renualt nut, I guess I enjoy being under the bonnet more than behind the wheel. I'm slowly turning toward BMW, but there will always be a place in my heart for the french !Removed!.
  6. Test driver for an F1 team would be pretty epic. Failing that, The new Jeremy Clarkson..
  7. Thanks for your reply. Are selector forks easily renewed? Or should I just wait until it won't select 1st at all? Then do it? Also. Had a look at the headlamp bulbs, as I want to get some HIDs. Because all I have known is Clios and 19s. What are they? I took the full beam bulb out and it appears to be part of the fixing that the wires plug into. I didn't want to try and pull it apart in case I broke something (knowing me I would). I looked around online and they are apparently H1 bulbs. Can anyone verify before I order the HIDs? I want to remove the front grills too and give them a new splash of paint. Do you remove the plastic cover between the bumper and rad, and then they clip out from behind? I only had a quick look, the screws look pretty rusty holding that panel on!
  8. The front bumper on my compact is a bit smashed at the bottom, will any 3 series bumper fit? Or must it be one from a compact? I want to lower it a bit and get some alloys (BMW ones, not aftermarket) but I'm unsure of what to lower it by. I want it to have a good stance. I thought about slamming it at the front, then a little at the back. But I think it has to be done just right. Any suggestions with this? I'm working with a tight budget, so coilies are a no no :( Also, it jumps out of first gear sometimes when pulling away. I've been told its a worn box. Could it be perhaps that the gear linkage is at fault? Thanks!
  9. Thanks for the welcomes, and oi! French is not THAT bad. Ok, so the build quality isn't brilliant, nor is the reliability, but they are fun cars to drive, full of character, when they work. Go ahead and get the !Removed! taking and joke cracking out the way haha. I'm not bothered by it anymore, I'm immune to it in fact ;) I would never have gone out specifically looking for a German car, boring in my eyes. But I was so wrong til I got one. Buy a 19 16v and you'll soon know ;)
  10. Hello everyone. I'm Mike and regrettably a true Ren 19 enthusiast. I have just bought a 1998 318ti Compact from a friend and I like it a lot more than I thought! So much so that I've decided to put my current 19 project on hold so I can start tinkering with the Beemer! Theres a knocking coming from the front which I believe is a ball joint, and it sometimes jumps out of first gear when pulling away. I think this is down to the gearbox being worn, so was going to drive it til it dies, then drop a 6cyl in it. Have to see how it goes. I'll get some photos up when I get round to taking some (:
