  1. Got one ! Its a bit blue, but I suppose it will grow on me ;-)
  2. Thanks Steve. Sound advice - thanks :-)
  3. Hello again Dave. I've seen a couple of tourings online. Hi-ish miles 75K miles. 2021 Saloons are cheaper and there's more choice. I fancy a touring because its a the closest I'm gonna get to an X5 :-( My experience with the turbo on my missing X5 (N20), has made me weary, but I know the 330e models have a newer, better engine.
  4. Hi. I'm getting around to replacing my stolen X5. I fancy a 3 series Touring and have my eye on a 2021 example with 76K miles on the clock. Are there faults or issues that I should look out for ? Thanks. Rod
  5. To wrap this up, - my X5 was stolen from my driveway a few weeks ago. The white smoke at start-up is now somebody else's problem. ( Probably a turbo oil seal. ) The car was moved to a secluded location and the built-in tracker was disabled. The BMW app showed it about 5Km from my house but when the police went there there was no car to be found. I'd put a new transfer box into it which was €5K but thankfully didn't have the turbo reconditioned (€2k). Waiting for the insurance money. Probably will go for a 2019 3 Series 330i hybrid. My days of sitting high at the lights are over :-(
  6. Well, my 2016 X5 was stolen from my driveway last month. They got into my house and took the spare key. I used the BMW app to locate the car about 5 Km from my home but that was the location where the thieves disabled the tracker and moved the car on. Probably in parts now, or in a container bound for Dubai. Jokes on them though. The turbo is due to let go any day now...
  7. Thanks Sean. I'm not really up to doing it myself. I'll go back to BMmodworks when the finances pickup. I take on board your point about the oil line. Makes perfect sense.
  8. Firstly, I'm happy for you that it worked. Thanks for posting the price comparisons. I'd dropped into BmwMods before Christmas and the very helpful guy I talked to said said it would be 2K to investigate and fix the problem. Did you take charge of the turbo rebuild or did the garage send it out ? Best of luck Rod
  9. I'll wait for your report. And if the guy does a good job, maybe you could pass on his name R/
  10. Thanks Dave. I'm going to visit a tire place tomorrow and depending on price, get three on the sensors replaced. The forth one is only a few weeks old
  11. A follow up question: Do the pressure sensors need to be coded ? I was quoted about €100 for a sensor from BMW. I see a pack of four on amazon for €50. R
  12. Off hand I say if you swapped the wheels then you'd need to recalibrate, but I'm not 100%
  13. That sounds good ! Checked out youtube for info and an American gent was a bit negative about some non OEM tire valve/sensors. Good to know that Amazon is an option. I have doubts about my local garage's air pump. Went out to a different garage today and there was a queue about 12 cars long for the pumps so I couldn't get near the air station. He must have been selling petrol for some low low price. I go hunting further afield ;-)
  14. Yep the BMW satnav is.... eh, not great. Google maps is the way to go. Oh. I just made a joke.
  15. Hi all. I get a low tire pressure warning on my left front tire. I pump it up to the specified pressure, do a reset and get ready to drive around for about 10 minutes. But after about a minute the screen switches back to the "tire pressure low warning" display and tells me to drive slowly.. I try another reset but the same thing happens. Do you reckon I need to replace the tire pressure sensor(s) ? I might try a different garage with a different air pump. (here's hoping)
