Hi,
I am writing to provide you with an update regarding my recent experience in sourcing a flywheel for my 2017 330e, which may be of assistance to people encountering a similar issue.
After extensive searching, I successfully purchased part number 3 on my list, as I was unable to find the initial part number 1 at a reasonable price. The part I acquired, designated #9454556, is a flywheel with 122 teeth and has only 17,000 miles of use, sourced from eBay.
Recently, my mechanic attempted to replace the old flywheel, but we discovered a critical discrepancy—while the parts appeared identical visually, the number of teeth differed significantly. My old flywheel (part #1) has 145 teeth, whereas the new one (part #3) only has 122 teeth. This incompatibility prohibits correct functionality with the starter motor.
Also, I'm not sure about part #2 but I have a feeling that it would be same as #3.
Thus, I would recommend adhering to the specifications provided by realoem.com for optimal results. I have included some images for reference, which may provide clarity on the differences.
Thanks,
