Clunking Noise From Under Car
Wow not going to be an easy one to find, Does the clunking sound like metal on metal? It`s well worth putting the car onto axle stands then go around all the joins with a crow bar, the slightest play can make the strangest noise. Is it coming from the front or back of the car, if it’s the middle it will be a center bearing!

New Mot Rules...will Your Car Pass?
Ready for my Rant, Take a seat lady and gents, On the I.O.M if the car was registered new on the IOM car, then it does not require an MOT, EVER! However if you have an accident then the car will be inspected, as a general rule the cars tend to be in excellent condition. However there are some right death traps about. If the car is imported it will go through the same test which is being introduced into in the UK this year, once it passes it never needs another MOT. My e39 has the Air bag light on and it has done for the last 5 years. I have kept it UK reg as it has a private plate on it(sad I know), however I think in June this will prompt me to put it on Manx plates. Guess I will have to fix the airbag light now! I don’t really think this is a daft set of rules, the 24 month MOT however it stupid some people have no idea how to look after cars!

Nagging Intermittent Problem
This does indeed sound like a pressure sensor issue, I had the pleasure of one failing in a 3 series, steering came very heavy and it almost felt like the iginition had been turned off! Sadly though there was no set of circamstances which made this fault occur, unless of course it was at that moment where I had just built faith back up in the little 3 then i would cause trouble

K-Seal
Personally I do not use K seal or such like, as the previous post suggest it is very much a short term fix, tends to get put in cars at car auctions, It stops the leak, but tends to bugger up and clog up everything it touches From personally experience if there is a cooling problem on a BMW, it’s probably the Head gasket on its way out, However it is worth checking the radiator as they do have a tendency to bow at the bottom which can cause all manner of problems!
