Hi guys its time to flex the plastic, my tyres are nearly gone, its a 2010 f10 525d but on looking at the standard run flats they are about £100 more than a standard road tyre, has any one done this yet and to what effect, my query are was the handling as good, fast bends ect, Or was money saving false economy and a complete disaster. I do understand that most tyre makers tyres are suitable for purpose but not necessarily as replacements i look forward to any experiences you may have got

Hi Alant It looks like you have got the same as me, and also i enquired about remapping and received some response, Dabsay and all, but did not get any response from any cars that have been done my query some how has disappeard of the forum. But while having a minor job done at Coopers B M W Norwich i asked the guy who appeared to be in charge about this topic and was strictly told that if done., 1 it would invalidate any outstanding warranty if proven your engine problems are due to remapping,, they wont do it for you either, And to quote"all engines i have seen remaped have blown up " sower grapes maybe" but all i was interested in was the increce in M P G i am very pleased with the get up an go after that few seconds untill the turbo comes on line and makes many boy racers a dot in my mirror i know its the tamest of the 3tr engines but it dose me on the crapp roads here in norfolk. iil be keeping an eye on your responces regards chippy ..

Thanks Dabsy I would would still like to here from any member who has had satisfaction doing this but not nessaryly for the track. Im in the dark as to why if an after market com any can improve an engine why not do it at the point of bulld, is it me???

Hi Im new at this so bear with me. I was reading a web page /company who remap engines, i have a one year old f10 5 series diesel in black she is my pride and shiny joy, only used for social occasions , but it all seems to good to be true, an increase of about 34 bhp and an increase in miles per gallon, im probably never going to see the 147mph stated any way, but i might do a track day at snetterton later on. Presumably i would have to inform the insurance. Has any body got experience of going down this route? Could it harm the engines in the long term? More over would it invalidate my warranty If any bodyhas any views i would be gratefull regards Mick the chippy
