help - no restart after warm
Hi Rusty and welcome to the forum You have posted in the 5 series slot maybe Trevor can move it to the X5 slot? Which engine 3.0, 4.4, 4.6 or early 4.8? Has the fuel filter been changed they often aren't due to being a PITA to get at. Starter motors are also a known issue when they begin to fail they draw massive current so check for loose connections at the starter or heat. Also when it refuses to start have you tried moving the Gear selector to Neutral in case it's an inhibitor switch issue, ignition switches have also been known to cause starting problems. Just my initial thoughts, but I would start with the easy to get at stuff (Gear selector) change keys if you have a spare? Hope this helps Dave

Android Auto options in E90 3 Series M Sport
Check out Dynavin they have developed some fully integrated systems that come with the facia and fitting kits. I had a Dynavin in my 4.4 very good system that was fully integrated with the cars Ibus system. Your car has Most to integrate with so you can maintain the driver information and parking systems it will also have canbus integration so steering wheel controls still work. Their units have I play and Android integration built in now I believe Dave

In need of help with 2004 645ci
Hi Kevin Have a look at www.realoem.com it's a BMW Parts Web site it will give you diagrams and part numbers. Put the last 7 digits of your Vin in and it will bring up the build for your model plus any options. The part hanging down looks like it may be the roll bar mounting, do you get knocking from the front end? On realoem the roll bar will be shown as part of the suspension steering will have its own section. I would guess that someone has unbolted it for some reason and not put it back??? not a part that comes loose on it's own but on the plus side a simple and fairly economical fix providing nothing is bent or broken. Cold weather
A not uncommon problem condensation inside the door causes the actual lock mechanism to seize up. Take off the door card an carefully peel back the moisture barrier you should be able to see the wire operating rod going down to the door side where the lock mechanism is located I sprayed mine with good old WD40 then worked iy until free then spray grease and its been OK for the last couple of years. A word of caution if someone has been there before and the moisture barrier is damaged or torn make sure you repair it with tape any splits can allow water into the car (wet carpets)

2006 BMW X3 2.0d Manual, hesitation issue when accelarating
Morning Take care with the tyres X3 and X5 are known to be sensitive to different rolling radius tyres front to rear or side to side. There are many posts on other sites about damaged diff's front centre and rear due to transmission wind up, none are cheap fixes. Does your X3 have a staggered set up? If it does it is even more important than ever to have the correct size tyres. BMW themselves recommend only * rated tyres by a few premium brand manufacturers. I change all 4 when they are getting close to the wear indicators and while I don't use premium brands I check out the deals available (my X5 runs a 20" staggered set up) currently running Yoko's with no ill effects. Symptoms will be jerking or grinding clicking noises when on full lock going slowly forward or in reverse Dave

2006 BMW X3 2.0d Manual, hesitation issue when accelarating
Hi Colin Do you have a code reader? BMW 1.4.0 or Carly are common and work well and are not expensive the codes will give you (and us) a better idea of what is going on. Fingers crossed its a simple fix Dave

F30 sat nav retro fit
Hi Barry Have a look at www.realoem.com put in the last 7 digits of your Vin then look at the Navigation section. That will give you a list of parts and part numbers for your model so your sure it will fit. You will also know if there are any trims and hidden bits not in the sale. I would think it is a fairly straight forward retro fit just take it logically and dont rush, the only piece of the retro fit you may not be able to do is coding the system to the car which I believe has to be done for that model. If you have software like NTSC or Carly for BMW you could manage it yourself, I would Google a bit to get as much info as possible before parting with your hard earned. Dave

Morning Joe Welcome to the Forum for information on your car have a look at www.realoem.com put in the last 7 digits of your vin and up will come a full parts catalog for your car, model, type and accessories either fitted or available. Headlamps can be upgraded to Xenon or LED but I believe that would need new units so may be costly to achieve, a bulb upgrade will be the most cost effective.

i-drive & iphone 6
I did read somewhere (sorry old bloke syndrome and can't remember where) that you have to enable streaming in the settings some how I believe it's separate setting for A2DP. Try a You tube search that should find something I am sure. Sorry I cant be of more help mine has old tech (a bit of wire with a plug on the end) Dave

Extrainious beeps
The beeps are "BMW Wallet Alerts" just your beemer's way of making sure your awake!! As Trevor says low battery voltage will throw all sorts of spurious alerts and warnings, I use a Ctek battery charger and conditioner a couple of times a year just to make sure the battery is in top condition. It takes around 12 hrs to complete a full reconditioning cycle but well worth the investment and effort in my opinion.
