  1. Simple mod but makes a big difference in my opinion. Nice one mate.

  3. Hmm, I'm not to sure bud. Maybe one of the admins can help you?
  4. Welcome Nathan, get some pictures up of your new motor when you can :).
  5. I have tinted my side light lenses in my E36 with Lamin-x and mine have come out really well and were relatively easy to do. But personally I wouldn't suggest using and cheap eBay stuff, had a few friends do this and noticed that it starts to fade rather quick. So personally I would say either give them a good restore, get new ones or buy some proper lamin-x. But nothing to say they could do with a good restore to ensure the lamin-x is nice and bright and doesn't come peeling back off.
  6. Quick update, I finally got round to ordering the crankcase ventilation valve and hoses. All fitted and car runs much nicer and still a tiny bit of smoke but I'm sure that will clear up once its had a good run.
  7. Welcome :)
  8. Wicked, cheers again dude. At least I know I'm heading in the right direction.
  9. Oh haha cheers, always good to understand how stuff works. No turbo dude E36 323. When we were fiddling with the valve the engine revs dropped and got a bit lumpy and then when we let go it was fine and no smoke until I picked the revs right up again. So just going to replace it. Even if it doesn't solve the problem it probably needs changing anyway. Just hope its not lifters or rings. Already trying to build one engine to go in my Coupe lol.
  10. Huh? That confused me? lol.
  11. Cheers for the reply dude. I took the car down to the garage I work at and got one of the guys to rev it up and it is more blue than white. Plugged it into our diagnostic machine, O2 sensors where throwing a wobbly. Re adapted everything and it runs a lot better now. Also after inspection found out that the thing the guy was talking about is the crankcase ventilation valve. So ordered that and the hoses as well as a new O2 sensor just to be sure :). Hopefully should all be sorted soon.
  12. Hi guys, I now have a E36 Touring 323i, I had a 'friend' map the car which has caused me no ends of trouble. First the maf had decided to disintegrate, then the cat broke up and blocked my centre pipe. So I have installed a new maf, had the cat and centre pipe removed (as its only going to be a track car) and had the original map put back on the car. I have one last issue I cannot seem to fix. On over run when I let off the throttle I get plenty of white smoke come out the exhaust. I have been to a BMW specialist who says that is some air cannister underneath the inlet manifold. Problem is I have never heard of anything like this, I can only assume that he means some kind of vacuum or something. Can anyone shed some light on this for me please? Thank you.
  13. Hi guys, Just a quick question, I have an E36 coupe 318is and an E36 Touring 323. What I want to know is will the touring dash fit my coupe? Cheers, Steve
  14. Hi Richard, Never heard of driveshaft faults when drifting E36's. What you want to look out for is the diff and trailing arm bushes and the condition of the diff subframe. Also engine mounts as I have seen a few comments about these letting go and your engine can end up sitting on your steering rack which is never good haha.
  15. Get some pictures up when you pick her up mate :)
  16. Well is anyone organising the club stand? I no one or two people who will be up for coming along as well if you need to make up a few numbers. Let me know :).
  17. No problem :), keep us posted. Hope it sorts the problem out.
  18. I got my sensor for £15.40 (at trade). Admittedly it probably isn't the best quality but I needed it that day to get the car running. From BMW they wanted £101 (at trade). You can get the for around the £50 for a decent one. So worth a look I say.
  19. I had a similar problem with the E36 323 touring I just brought. Plugged it in and it came up with lambda sensor, cam sensor, crank sensor and a few other bits and bobs. Changed the crank sensor cleared all the faults and now she purrs like a kitten :). No cutting out, but she does still idle quite low. But apparently that is because all of the settings have been re set and it needs to be run for a while to log everything. Not sure if this helps but just thought I would mention it as it sounded pretty similar to my problem.
  20. Nice motor mate and welcome back. :)
  21. Welcome friend, get some piccy's up :).
  22. I missed last year as well :(. Definitely up for it this year. Put my name down, also will be good to put some names to faces and all that jazz. Just hope my new engine will be built and in the motor in time. If not ill have to bring the coupe.
  23. I have a Pipercross induction kit on my Coupe and a K&N on my touring. I like the "Whooosh" as Daz said but I think I'm going to change to original air box but with a K&N panel filter maybe with a few holes to get some extra air in :). One thing I would say if you go with the cone make sure you run some kind of fresh air feed to it,
  24. Welcome :). I agree Daz. I brought my first BMW a little under a year ago and I have already just brought another haha. Endless possibilities :).
  25. Welcome Andy, Hope you are enjoying the club :).
