  1. pretty sure its sounding glow plug related.
  2. yeh ive heard they are not as good as the award winning m57tu unit, but i know a few people with the e9x models and there cars are fine, they are manual but ive heard the auto box was good,i personally wouldnt entertain an auto as they are to expensive to replace and can just pack up with no notice, the manual you have time as its usually gradual,i am going 3.0 litre d a5 next and will be remapping it,any tips on them engines before i start doing my home work,i usually keep a car for no more than three year and im getting itchy feet although everyday i marvel at my 12 year old cars ability to keep up with todays offerings.
  3. ok thats fine on newer cars, but remaps are developed and there are good remaps for cars like mine . e 46 330d (204) cars, like mine which do not have dpf to start with, mines been mapped for nearly two year, and as for melted engines, never seen that or heard, and if anyone stupid enough to have a none rputeable remap etc are asking for trouble, ive done plenty of miles and not the first car ive had mapped.
  4. thats what a remap and delete of dpf do,they delete sensor signals from reaching the dash, also the cats only have to be visible, they do not check to see if they inside, also you will have to fins a picky tester to check, people with petrol ahve done this with decats etc by either replacing for mot or just hiding them,
  5. they have them but supposed to be revised and stronger, although if it were mine id get them out ,not a lot and not hard to do and peace of mind is worth its weight in dual particle filters ha ha
  6. yes it certainly is,and egr and cats
  7. check for boost leaks ie tur bo hoses
  8. is this obc reading or real life brim to brim coz the obc are useless
  9. most boxes are just plug into f uel rail, and therefore just raise fuel intake, map for your car(if done right) will be done to specs on your turbo condition .clutch and gearbox, injectors pressure etc.as said dpf removal is a failure now but easily got round,so if you do remove it,get the dpf shell cut open, innards taken out, welded back up and deleted from the car along with the egr valve and eml light, simples
  10. as above, one month warranties are useless because as has been said you have a fit for purpose consumer item for at least 6 months and as yours was inside this and the car was not fit for purpose your first port 0of call should have been the original dealer
  11. i suppose you never read the whole thread,if you had then your post would not have been
  12. twice last year both front calipers month apart.when it happens get out and spit on the disc ,if the spit bounces off then its way to hot and may even warp, plus put ya face near as you can and see if you can feel heat
  13. is this an obc reading or brim to brim test, coz the obc is prob wrong, mine always reads 6 mpg better.ie it says 46 in summer and i only get 40 brim to brim, and most other owners are the same but varying in the discrepencies
