  1. Sadly most manufacturers have been catching up on this sort of stuff for years. They've only just about all caught onto the fact that bluetooth and USB should be pretty much standard features these days...
  2. Looks wise it's personal preference but obviously the E90 series is much more modern looking and the interior is better. Depends if you want a future classic of not really. If it were between those two diesels for me I'd definitely opt for the more powerful one of the two. As you say those machines are properly quick with a remap and the torque is just mind blowing...
  3. For a 94 model probably ebay, breakers yards etc that would be where I would try first
  4. Seems bizarre that you have the USB in the glove box and nothing happens. Even if you don't have the hard drive you would assume it would at least play? Sadly mine didn't come with a USB seeing as it's a bit too old!
  5. Seems strange that you have the USB port in the right place and it's not doing anything? What are you trying to load the music from? Memory stick?
  6. That would be too easy! I'm pretty sure the later ones will have USB input?
  7. Pop the measurements into http://www.willtheyfit.com/ Quite a useful site really!
  8. Hi Kell welcome to the club I believe the supported membership is not available at the moment but should be back shortly? Liking the 5 series - suits you! A bit more modern than the IS200 I imagine?
  9. The user manual seems to indicate you can use the port in the glove box to store files? Perhaps this could be a solution for you?
  10. Not bad compared to what they cost new though Also, prices for M3s will never go as low as a "normal" model. Old E30s are getting very rare and expensive, and E36 M3s have just about bottomed out on price now I reckon. If you're looking at the X5 they do a nice but rare petrol V8 version. Bit different to the usual diesels!
  11. It's usually more for the driving experience right?
  12. I guess that answers that then!
  13. The CREE LED's you have look like they have the holder part all built in and look as if they are just a push and twist fit?
  14. By the one in the glovebox what are you referring to? I imagine you're probably talking about a connection that goes to the CD changer socket?
  15. Can't say I've ever seen anyone build an exhaust from a BBQ before but nice job!
  16. Indeed. I suppose you can get the pick of the E46 range or an early new shape? Thought about an E46 M3 as there are some bargains to be had at the moment? What a machine that is!
  17. Yep, know exactly what you mean. Any little thing wrong with the car and it just stresses me out. Can't enjoy it like normal!
  18. There is an adaptor you can get that keeps your parking sensors. You just need to make sure you do your research or talk to someone that understands but it's definitely possible to get it all working nicely
  19. Hi David, welcome to the club and back to BMW Out of interest, was your last one an E36 or E46? You're right in saying the new cars have come a long way. I'm still in an E46 but it's mint and I love it, especially the sweet six cylinder engine. Have you considered a larger engine to enhance your driving "enjoyment"?
  20. Only the usual practicality vs looks really. To be honest I never feel the coupe is THAT much worse for practicality aside from the lack of rear doors. Had to be the coupe for me though purely on the looks
  21. You should be fine Kris, there's not really too much that can go wrong with the rest of the car when changing a head unit
  22. Chris, is yours an E46 or an E90?
  23. I can definitely vouch for the 6 cylinder engines. Are you likely to be going petrol or diesel? Each have their own merits I suppose but as you said at least fuel prices are a bit lower now!
  24. Pretty sure you should be OK with switching the head unit providing you get the right adapter leads etc...
  25. It's difficult to say. I would run it for a bit and see if the code comes back. If it does then I'd probably look at getting all the bits from the error codes fixed...
