  1. Hi Dan, welcome Glad you're enjoying your car. Why not post some photos for us?
  2. I would think it's a problem with the transmission itself. I would take it to a good automatic gearbox specialist to look at it.
  3. Hi Calum welcome I'm sure you will be happy with your purchase the 3.0 twin turbo diesel in the 335d is a lovely engine - so much torque! You could also get a remap if you wanted to liberate a few extra ponies and torques...
  4. Out of interest why would you want to change the tyre size for something narrower? Unless you're thinking that it may have the incorrect size currently fitted?
  5. Let us know how you get on
  6. Good result well done Tony
  7. You need to find the vacuum pipe I believe
  8. This might help: http://workshop-manuals.com/bmw/3_series_e36/z3_m44_roadst/4_tightening_torques/11__engine_(m44)/12__cylinder_head_with_cover/1_azd__cylinder_head_with_cover/
  9. Have you got a link to the car? Is the car being offered for sale at a BMW dealership?
  10. If you had the whole roof done I'd assume so, but you'd need to speak to someone who knows what you're talking about to be sure I would think
  11. Sorry to hear you've been having problems - hope you get it sorted soon Sadly many convertibles tend to leak as they get older. If you've got a solid engine though that's at least something. How many miles has she done?
  12. That's a good result Ian - wasn't aware the top just came off? Looks like a simple case of a bad connection then!
  13. It's the top part of the exhaust where is collects the gases and attaches to the engine. Could be a bit of a pig to get at to be honest and will probably cost a few quid in parts and labour
  14. I think the whole trim piece comes out - see this thread on another forum. http://www.xbimmers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=512867 I'd imagine once you get it out it would probably be just a case of replacing it though - I doubt it's particularly serviceable.
  15. Hi Simon - perhaps a photo would be helpful so we can judge if it's normal or not?
  16. I think there is a problem with the cable going into the fuse box on some E90's. Some people have reported wiggling the cable and all power comes back.
  17. Welcome Paul! Something like this perhaps? http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201511289056782?radius=1501&make=bmw&price-from=6500&model=1_series&maximum-age=up_to_7_years_old&maximum-mileage=up_to_60000_miles&price-to=7500&quantity-of-doors=5&sort=ageasc&onesearchad=used%2Cnearlynew%2Cnew&engine-size-cars=1-4l_to_1-6l&fuel-type=petrol&page=1&colour=black&postcode=BH23%206NX&search-target=usedcars&logcode=p
  18. Not sure if it's of interest to you but there are a few sellers on eBay doing complete kits: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-3-SERIES-LED-INTERIOR-KIT-FULL-SET-E90-E92-LIGHTS-/250832596934
  19. Hi Nick welcome The X5 is a nice car - what other BMWs have you owned in the past out of interest? Any favourites?
  20. E46... not that I'm biased or anything Bit more of a modern car though in my opinion?
  21. Got a link to the video? Is the compact any different from the normal 3 series coupe like mine?
  22. eBay has stacks of interior LED bulbs for peanuts - some do end up coming from China though so may take a while.
  23. Dave - six cylinder units are lovely engines so you'll get the proper BMW experience. To be honest it's an older car now with a lot of miles so I would say service history is key. Providing it's been looked after then I see no reason it can't be a decent car for you
