Ignition Barrel Replacement Query
The new key will have an immobilizer chip in it so that will need swapping over or re coding but not sure on the ins and outs of it I'm afraid!

Affording My First Bmw
Hi Greg welcome to the club! :D I don't think there is an exact salary you need. You just need to make sure that you can afford to buy it and run it. It depends on what other monthly payments you have.

The Weather!!!!!!!!!
Luckily not had too many major issues over my way but got to agree with you that I'm getting rather frustrated with the sheer amount of rain. Literally everyday! :( I wonder how many people have packed their bags and moved somewhere warmer! B)

Glass Cleaning
I've always found a good glass cleaner (I use one called NilGlass) along with kitchen towel is a good combo. I find that as the kitchen towel is disposable, it doesn't carry any grease like a normal cloth can. I can also vouch for the Rain X that Jeff mentioned. I've used it and found it to be very good stuff!

Normally most BMW's do have wider tyres at the back. Perhaps it may be worth speaking to your dealer?
