Hi don't no when last serviced as just bought the car just picked up from BMW for second day they still have no idea they said might stay of but it has come straight back on again only diffrence is now telling me to add 1 litre oil not had that one before the oil has been reading in the middle now I really am baffled why are BMW not getting any codes or seeing this happening I am going to service it now

Hi ok went into BMW they said crankshaft sensor £200 please sir ten mins down road back on again arrrrrrrrrrr they are now talking about vanos units and timing they said there's a leak on rocker rocker gasket and vac pump any ideas please help thanks for replys they also said it could be a air problem very confused

Hi Jim and thanks a lot for your reply I took the electrical connectors of the vanos solinoids and cleaned them as there is a bit of oil on them think they need new I rings but the light went out so I thought that was that but today stopped for fuel and as soon as I started it again back on the first time it came on same thing stopped for 5 mins and when restarted light came on would you stil say can sensor thanks again

Hi all I am hoping for a bit of advice not had much look on other forums I have a 2004 120i 89000 miles the engine managment light has come on I can not feel any diffrence in engine or drive not to say there is not one I just have not felt it I payed at a garage for diagnostic and the codes were 2f9e thermal oil level sensor 2a63 valvertronic server motor 29cc misfire multiple cylinders 29cd misfire cylinder 1 2b63 camshaft sensor exhaust They diagnosed it as the timing chain had slipped £600 to repair the light went out I started to drive home the light came back on almost straight away so when I got home I used a friends tester wich is only small hand held cheap one and only one code this time Po366 camshaft position sensor b circuit range performance bank 1 no other codes surley if the chain had slipped I would have rough idle ect can any one help before I pay £600 for something that may not be the problem
