  1. The body control module is located behind the glove box on an E53, and no they are not all the same! You need to get it on a diagnostic before you start changing modules and preferably a proper BMW system, all E53 operate a k-bus system and your about to entre something you may wish you never started, a basic diagnostic system may throw up a body control fault but a BCM does a llooooot of stuff and that is where the fault may lie (ie a bad earth) somewhere further down the line. My advice is to find the BCM and check for water ingress, if that looks ok empty the boot and root around in the wheel well for water ingress if that's ok unless you are very talented leave the fooooook alone and get a pro in. Regards Steve

  4. Simon aftermarket ones are crap and last no time if indeed they were any good to start with, but your old DPF can be cleaned by sonic waves and once refitted they can be programed again for 125000 miles, I have had it done many times to both 4 cylinder and 6 cylinder BMW DPFs, hope you didn't through the old one away mate they are worth good money when genuine items!! £250 inc VAT for the DPF to be cleaned. Regards Steve

  13. Josh an easier option is find a company that can restore your seat to as near good as new, they can re colour them in place for roughly £100 per seat, if you give me the last 7 digits of your VIN number I can spec check it for you and give you the colour of your seats, the vert and coupe seats wont fit the saloon front ones will, and I don't think the wiring is in place for electric seat in your car. Regards Steve
  14.
