  1. you may want to add further information down there is not much to go by. for instance where specifically it is, the time and how often it occurs etc.
  2. Is anyone going to this event I will heading down with a couple of family members in most likely two BMW's :) http://www.bmwccgbforum.co.uk/bmw-car-club-gaydon-national-event_topic10068.html BMWCC National Festival 17th August 2014 - Gaydon Heritage Motor Centre Our annual national event is back again this year, held at Gaydon Heritage Motor Centre on the 17th August! The BMW Car Club will once again host the largest gathering of BMW’s in Europe. The event promises to be even bigger than last year, with the re naming of the event ‘Club BMW ’14 Festival’ we are hoping to encourage all BMW owners not just members of the club and make it an event for the whole family. Up to 3,000 BMW’s will gather to celebrate all things BMW including the Mini. The focal point of the event will be the arena, where there will be a master of ceremonies, Steve Deeks. There will be speeches by the regional chairs, presentations of the concours winners and competition winners and live music entertainment throughout the day. Some other activities going on during the day will be radio controlled cars, a tombola, wheel changing challenge and special ‘show only’ promotions. The event can guarantee a great family day out with activities to entertain the children while you wonder around the trade stalls and the exhibition of vehicles in front of the arena. There will be bouncy castles and slides as well as face painting and a simulator to keep the children occupied. Throughout the day the Motor Centre and Museum will be open - you will have full use of the restaurant and facilities. The event will be sponsored by Rybrook BMW, Michelin and Thorney Motorsport being main sponsors for the National Concours.. Tickets on Sale NOW! 3. Welcome to the forum I hope you enjoy your 1st BMW :) On the meets front there is no meets in Nottingham planned from what I know of as of yet. However there is Car Cafe 8:30am till 10:30am (no idea whether it will be good or bad) but I will be attending. http://www.bmwownersclub.com/forums/topic/11449-car-cafe-5th-july-nottingham/
  4. I have jumped to a non BMW manual to a automatic BMW and very much enjoying it so far, my 8 speed automatic is rather good at holding gears and I can take manual control if I wish and does hold on to gears a very long time (will upshift if you have kept it at certain revs for too long). But not from my experience but rather what I have heard smaller powered cars say 200hp or less (might be higher than that) manual is the better choice (but depends on the automatic gearbox some are shocking, average or amazing) I find automatic is miles better for cruising along and if your a big kid like me you will love shifting with paddles :)
  5. thanks will try my best to keep them off

  13. **NEW UPDATE** My 2 series has arrived at Derby on Tuesday and I will be collecting it on Thursday now (the vehicle got overnighted to the dealership) and already seen it and cannot wait. I will post photos etc when i get my hands on the car as soon as possible :)
  14. **Final Update Before Collection Hopefully** I was due to collect the car this week, but unfortunately the car has been delayed between the port and the Doncaster distribution area (i.e. lorry broke down with my car on its trailer) so I will be collecting the car on the 17th June unless the car gets further delayed.

  20. Hello Jonathon and welcome to the forum :)
  21. Runflats do ride worse than normal tyres as jeffthro mentioned. I would say it depends on if you would rather have a safety net if a tyre burst or have a nicer riding car.
  22. sorry did not to mean to do that no idea how to delete the post
  23. The first easy thing and inexpensive thing is to make sure you keep no valuables in the car within eye sight. if you own an estate or hatchback I recommend you keep no valuables in the boot, a colleague at work had his estate rear window smashed to steal his laptop that a passerby saw he left in when he opened it to get a suitcase to go to a meeting. you can fit a motion sensing light on your driveway will help deter them or you can go further and fit a camera as well as my neighbour did when his car got broken into. But sorry to hear that your car got broken into is horrible when that happens.
  24. Thank you mick, I am sure I will enjoy it once I get my hands on it
  25. haha nothing wrong with that I wish I was not so lazy, then I would do the same thing haha
