  1. Try bleeding the system. My 2002 diesel gets hot quickly
  2. Enjoy your new purchase. Plenty of help available on here if you need it
  3. Now it's sorted enjoy driving it.
  4. Same wheels I have on mine, mine were recoated in BMW silver and suit the car well but it is a dark green. For a silver car I would go slightly darker than silver, as said above anthracite is nice. Go for a colour you will be able match after you kerb them and need to touch them up.
  5. You could always buy a used switch unit and swap the bulbs, keeping the others for spares
  6. They are nice cars and no more complicated than any other. When buying parts check the price at your local dealers as well, sometimes they can be cheaper. This site is a good resource for part numbers. www.realoem.com
  7. No really easy it unplugs from above the caliper and pulls out from the pad. When you take the old ones off you will see. Only need to change sensor if warning light on on dash
  8. Pads exactly the same as any other car. Handbrake shoes inside rear discs.
  9. Put it on several sites, get more interest that way
  10. Get the codes read first of all, you can get cheap bmw readers on Ebay. Also these cars are dependent on a good battery, a bad one can cause all sorts of issues and codes
  11. Have you got anything hanging from your rear view mirror or something? If you have it could be that that's causing the internal sensor to go off
  12. Bonnet, boot lid, doors. Maybe one on the roof inside the car plus a tilt sensor in the boot. If you press the lock button a second time within 10 secs it will disarm the internal sensor if fitted and the tilt sensor
  13. Is the switch bar below the radio/air con interchangeable with the E39? I need one with the rear sunshade switch, but mine doesn't have the individual switches it's one complete unit. I have seen an E39 one with the switches I need plus one I don't. The part numbers are different but the units look identical.
  14. May be useful for diagnosing body electrics http://www.bmwtech.ru/pdf/e46/ST034/4%20Central%20Body%20Electronics%20Internet.pdf
  15. Decided to change the air filter on my 2002 330d. Looked at ECP and their price for a crossland filter was £15, out of curiosity I checked Halfords £6.11 for the same filter. Decided to reserve at my local store and it said collect on Monday from 13:00, received a phone call at 14:00 today telling me filter was in store. They now deal with car parts direct for non stock items.
  16. Also try carparts4less.com. They are part of Eurocarparts, the difference being they will only ship items. That said they can be cheaper than ECP for the same item
  17. This site will give you a lot of info about your car including model number, just enter the last 7 digits of your vin http://www.bmwvin.com
  18. Not really sure what you mean about the lights. You can replace the sidelight bulb with an LED one, aftermarket angel eye's can be bought and fitted but it means taking your headlight unit apart to fit them. The other option is to keep looking on Ebay for used units with the factory fitted angel eyes
  19. Have you checked the cables where they enter the boot by the hinge? A few different makers vehicles seem to have an issue there as well. All the bending causes the wires to break
  20. Just a small amount from the pipes after disconnecting. Also the same on my Rover 75 2.0 D
  21. I have just changed my filter and i never de pressurised the system. 330d E46 M Sport
  22. My 330d msport has staggered wheels. Another way to check is some online tyre companies ask for your registration number, then give you the correct tyre sizes
  23. The tyre sizes are correct as you have the staggered system same as most E46's. Very much doubt they are run flats, as for brand thats personal choice but some are noisier than others
  24. I thought only the gel type batteries had that system. Obviously I'm wrong.
  25. Then it should be an ordinary battery so no registering required
