  1. Try your local breakers yard as well. There are loads of BMW specialist breakers on the internet as well.
  2. You can put an inline fuse holder in the wire itself, then you can use whatever the unit is rated at. I put a permanent live feed to a aux socket to keep an led inspection lamp charged all the time, I connected this direct to the battery then put an inline fuse holder and fuse in. This means I can run any 12v item from the boot without the ignition being on and I can swap the fuses to meet the spec of the item being used.
  3. Stick to the service schedule but get the oil and filter changed more regularly. I only do low mileage and get mine changed every year regardless. I have a local indy that does it including engine flush and fuel additive for £150
  4. Have you got the efficient dynamics with stop / start ? If not you may just need a like for like battery, is the one fitted a gel battery?
  5. Have you asked your local indy for their advice? They may even be able to register it to your car for half the price BMW will charge.
  6. I phoned my local dealer yesterday to enquire about a new battery. The price is cheaper than ECP and Halfords. However I was informed that BMW shortened the battery by 2 inches from 14" to 12" and if the hold down clamp was on the side it would not fit. Their solution is the new gell battery, but this is £168 + vat and another £100+ to register it to the vehicle. But this will only work if you have the efficient dynamics system, otherwise it will not charge properly. Fortunately my clamp is on the top of the battery so size does not matter.
  7. You could also go to this site enter the last 7 of vin then print off spec sheet. http://www.bmwvin.com
  8. Could it just be a slippery section of road and your getting slight wheel spin
  9. Hi Steve, Where did you get your cree's from? I've tried a couple of different led bulbs but they also put the indicators on as well due to low power consumption. And one set are canbus
  10. Update: Kit arrived Saturday fitted Sunday took 10 mins. However the springs were too long and would not allow the boot to close, A quick message to the seller, no reason for it unless some one in the past has replaced the struts with M3 ones. Quite happy to refund so no problem.
  11. They need to make money on the optional extras. Cup holder can be purchased, goes where the tray is behind the gear selector. However the arm rest will be in the way. I bought two cheap cup holders and adapted the hook to fit on the door pocket, one each side.
  12. The wiring may be in place as some vehicles came with them factory fitted
  13. Thanks for the item number, set ordered
  14. Someone has completed a similar project in this group http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/forum/index.php. Although not a Beemer forum it may help
  15. Does the part number make a difference for the rain and light sensor? The only one on Ebay with my part number is £40 others with different part number are £20 - £30, all have the same HW and SW version along with similar manufacturing dates.
  16. Is it an E46? if so apparently they don't have DPF's
  17. That i wouldn't know, not fitted to my vehicle. Are there any codes stored?
  18. Maybe if it's only doing short distances it needs a good blast on a fast road to clear it.
  19. The other thing is if you change to one of those you will need to relocate your heater switch panel lower down, for this you will another fitting which again is readily available on Ebay or other suppliers
  20. There are several that look oem with the features you are after. Type BMW E46 radio into Ebay and you'll see what i mean
  21. Have you tried www.etk.cc? Enter last seven of chassis number and you can then view all parts for your vehicle
  22. To be honest, I don't call £35 for the lead and software delivered overpriced especially as the new lead does both K line and D can. I also have an older version of the software and it can read all the BMW modules and codes. Also allows activation and deactivation of various systems
  23. Just ordered a new lead with the software. Cheaper direct from their website than their Ebay page
  24. I have this error coming up, any ideas which way to go, or do I just ignore.
  25. Ebay, also UK sellers
